Objectives
The GAMES PLUS Project: traditional games for learning to teach fits in the scope of higher education. It proposes a pedagogical model for teaching the Traditional Sports Game (TSG) in the context of Physical Education and sport, given its formative potential to allow future professionals to play the role of transmitters of the traditional ludic heritage. It brings together partners from higher education and associations that safeguard the TSG.
Activities
It intends to implement practical interventions for teaching and training university students about TSG, the project developers. The work methodology foresees the production of support materials for this purpose (manuals and regulations), the organization of workshops, demonstrations, competitions of the games, and the application of the knowledge learned in the field (schools, institutions that support refugees, immigrants and population at social risk, and other stakeholders).
Impact
The impact of the project will be measured on information obtained via application for mobile devices. Its dissemination, products, scientific and extracurricular activities will serve to sensitize higher education educators, STG associations and other stakeholders to develop it as a “teaching subject”, optimizing efforts in favor of a purpose that returns the traditional game to its place in society and grants diversity to the teaching of motor practices.
